Field Rules and Regulations

The following rules are for your safety and the safety of the spectators and others at or near the field.

THESE RULES APPLY TO EVERYONE!

  1. All fliers must have current AMA membership and, with the exception of visitors (see rule 12), must have current YARCC membership.
  2. All flying must be radio controlled.
  3. All transmitters must (except 2.4GHz*) display a proper frequency number pin. It is imperative that the proper frequency pin is attached to the transmitter before turning the transmitter on. Current AMA card must be attached in the frequency board in place of the frequency pin. Return frequency pin when done using. Be considerate of others that may be waiting to use that frequency. *2.4Ghz users must also place their AMA card in the frequency board and display a common 2.4GHz pin on their transmitter.
  4. Observe all AMA safety rules, regulations, sound level reduction guidelines, etc. It is strongly recommended not to operate model planes alone. Use extra care when doing so for your own safety. All field activity will be conducted in a safe manner.
  5. When starting, testing, or tuning an engine or motor, the front of the plane must be pointed toward the runway and safely restrained from unintentional rollout or takeoff.
  6. All takeoffs, landings, dead sticks, crashes (if possible), and the direction thereof, must be clearly announced so all other pilots on the line are alerted to such. The windsock direction should be observed for safety.
  7. No flying over the flight line, pits, parking area, or people in the area. All flying will be done from above and beyond the center of the runway.
  8. No flying while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. Consuming alcohol at the field is prohibited.
  9.  No flying when the runway and pilot areas are being mowed.
  10. Move to the end of the pit area when breaking in new engines.
  11. The picnic benches are not to be used to fuel or start planes from.
  12. All prospective members/visitors must have AMA and be accompanied by a club member in order to fly. Visitors are allowed a total of 3 flying visits per field before they must join the club. Beginners may be required to use a “buddy box”.
  13. Motor vehicles must stay off the runway.
  14. All spectators must remain behind the pit area.
  15. All children must be well supervised.
  16. Everyone must conduct themselves in a socially acceptable manner.
  17. All trash must be picked up from the facility. Carry out what you carry in.
  18. Care should be taken to preserve our Club’s investment. Use common sense when using the facilities, especially in adverse conditions.
  19. All RC Planes must always yield right-of-way to Full Scale Planes, even if it means crashing your model.
  20. Permitted flying hours are from 10am until dusk Saturday and Sunday.

Failure to follow the rules and regulations can result in loss of your membership.

Please report any infractions to the Safety Director.
